Please explain what you would do if you found yourself in a situation where you were approached by a person bent on inflicting personal harm to you. What precautions would you take to prevent such an event from taking place and how would you attempt to persuade your attacker to leave you in peace?

I listened in the tv news, an interview about what a rapist looks in a potential victim.
The first thing that they look in a victim is hairstyle, is more probable that they attack a woman with pony tail or just long hair.
The second thing is the clothes. They choose women with clothes easy to remove like dresses or skirts.
Also they choose women talking with cellphone or doing other things because this shows them that women are distracted, and can be easily attacked.
The hours they attack more, are the beginning of the morning between five and eight thirty and after at ten thirty in the night.
Usually if you try to defend they can desist in approximately two minutes because they believe that is waste time. If you shout try to shout “Fire!”, and many people will come for curiosity.
This that I say is bad but is true. If you shout help the most people are refrain for fear.

First, I thought that I would leave all my stuffs to the robber, because for me my life is more important than my material things or information that I can have, but If I’d had the opportunity to learn tecniques about self defense, probably I would try to protected myself. Maybe I feel that I’m not so strong for figth or beat with someone.
And when I’m out of my house, the preventive measures that I take are: Walk on concurred streets, watch mysterious people and turn around or keep away from those people, I try to evit bring big or extravagants jewels, hide my electronics things, and walk quickly towards my destiny.

If one person wants to heart me I try to find the way to go away and run, think what I shoud to do later if I’m being followed.
I preffer be more careful and don’t walk alone after midnight, don’t take much money whit me, don’t drive in unknown neighbourhood.
well If exist one chance to talk whit the attacker I tell him the acction he is doing don’t help anybody get happiness or fell good, only having problems.

I agree with Myriam. The pony tail is a advantage for attacker.
One important thing is to keep good shape and training self-defense. In general the ladies hate martial arts but basic movements could help if applied the appropriated way.
The idea is not to training to be a Bruce Lee but to surprise the attacker or the opponent and gain minutes to escape or find help.
Same times people believe if cooperate with the opponent the violence would be less. It should be true with experienced thieves but if the opponent is maniac the cooperation will not work.
Identify the difference is not so easy but the cooperation is not a solution for 100% of the cases. In my country, Brazil, Rio de Janeiro to be more specific, the rule when you are stopped in stoplights and the thieves demand your car is…open the door and leave the car. If you try to escape the thieves rule is shoot to kill.
This kind of attack is planed and in general you would see just one person but they never are less than three. Never fight against this guys they are extremely organized.
I try to convince my daughter and my wife to make something related with this a several years but unfortunately they not believe in my loving advice. In the sexual attack the fight against the opponent in general is efficient because they choose the victims according to the aspects commented above.

Nowadays in Mexico like in many countries unfortunately
theinsecurity is increasing, that’s why we need to know how to defend our self against bad people. There are different self-defense techniques very useful. Self-defense means doing everything possible to avoid fighting someone who threatens or attacks you, the best idea is giving a robber your money rather than trying to fight or run. I have been trying to convince my daughter and my wife to practice a martial art for several years. I could not find a martial art that they enjoyed. Unfortunately, they do not agree with my loving advice.
In the case of rape, the struggle against an opponent predominately is efficient because they choose their victims according to the aspects described above.

What I would do to protect myself for jeopardy may be infinitive marker ask for help. If I were in a public place, I would incite people to be warm from an aggressor. But, if I am alone, I would run and try to find a policeman. However, if I cannot find a police officer I will defend myself in order to persuade my attacker, I know that eventually somebody will notice the incident. Finally, to prevent

I was thinking about violence yesterday, and it came up to my mind the recent masacre in
CiudadJuarez, Mexico, the professional soccer players of the mexican team “America”: “Torito perez”, who sufferend an assault and “Salvador Cabañas”, who suffered an attempt of death inside a Bar in Mexico City. Those cases of violence make me reflexioning about the current insecurity of Mexico, and how many lifes are paying for the incompetence of the local security departments.The next civil death could be one out of our parents, children ,and friends. Moreover, we can recall that president “Felipe Calderon” is worried about to combat against the traffic dealers, when actually robbers and other minor criminals are even more dangerous to the society than the big bosses of “Carteles”.
I feel pity as a mexican citizen about this situation
,because the mexican goverment is not able to take over the corruption that contaminates all the levels of the actual regimen and the public institutions, whichtheyare considered to serve firstable the people and then personnal interest.This idealistic and plutocratic goverment has failed to protect the people because corruption rules its directness. Therefore, the solution to eliminate violence is cooperation between neighbors. The good will must be over the grievance of insecurity.

If I was in that kind of situation, I would definitely try to persuade the person who wants to hurt me, because I think that in that moment, right there I would do everything to safe me, even talk sweet and be kind with him and when he isn’t thinking to hurt mepunctuation I would run away.
